The University of the Transmanche or Reseau Universitaire Transmanche is the first Franco-British higher education institution in the world. It was launched in September 2004 as part of the celebration of the Centenary of the Entente Cordiale and has the backing of the French President, Jacques Chirac and the British Prime Minister, Tony Blair.
