The Faculty of Science and Engineering has over 5,000 students and our
programmes provide opportunities for full and part time study and
distance learning. We aim to provide you with the skills needed to
develop a rewarding and fulfilling career. Our graduates have a
combination of practical and theoretical skills that enable them to
find employment in areas as diverse as health care, environmental
protection, transport, manufacture, education and the leisure industry.
The Faculty has recently benefited from over £40 million of investment,
which has provided state-of-the-art laboratories equipped with the
latest technology, newly built lecture theatres and a new computer

University of Manchester - School of Environment & Development

The School was created in 2004 as part of the new University of
Manchester, combining the Institute for Development Policy and
Management (IDPM) with the disciplines of Architecture,Geography, and
Planning & Landscape.
It is our goal that the School of Environment and Development will be
internationally recognized as an interdisciplinary centre of excellence
for research and teaching for those seeking to understand, theorize and
tackle the problems created by the uneven relationships between
society, economy, and environment.
