Rebecca Gam is an International Student Counsellor at StudyLink’s Sydney office. She has over 4 years experience working in international education. Rebecca grew up in regional Australia and earned her bachelors from an Australian university in a major city. She has travelled to Singapore and has basic Greek language skills.

Important deadlines for your application

Australia – The next term you can apply for starts in February/March 2007. The application deadline for most courses is in October; however, we encourage you to apply early for best consideration. Keep in mind that you do not need to scan and attach your documents, a counsellor can do this for you. Contact a counsellor for assistance with selecting a course or completing your applications.

US – The next term you can apply for starts in January/February of 2007 and the main term starts in September for most institutions. English language schools allow students to start throughout the year. Application deadlines vary and we encourage you to apply well in advance for best consideration. UK – Applications have closed for courses starting in September 2006. Start thinking now about applying for 2007. For best consideration, applications should be submitted by early January of 2007. A big campus with big ideas

Newcastle College is the largest Further and Higher Education College in the UK and was considered the best performing in the UK government’s April 2004 OFSTED report. Winner of the prestigious Beacon Award for Excellence, the ESOL School offers international students the opportunity to take Cambridge exams, pre-sessional (degree and masters preparation), and summer schools.

Strong links to Northumbria University, University of Newcastle and the University of Sunderland mean that many Newcastle College students go on to complete degree courses at these universities. Studies in English (EFL), International Foundation Programmes, A Levels and any of the 30 two-year foundation degree programmes can lead to a full Bachelor Degree with a university top-up year.
