Singapore: an Australian education in Asia’s financial hub
James Cook University, opened its first Asian campus more than 4 years ago in Singapore. It has proven to be a popular choice for international students who want a quality Australian university experience in a leading global business hub closer to home.
Arun G.V, from India, completed his MBA at the Singapore campus in 2006. He is now running an import/export business in the UAE for Allied Distributors. He said; “In a simple sense, it’s Australian education with the Singaporean economy. JCUS has given me more than I thought possible from an international campus of a reputed Australian university. Also, it’s nearer to home.”
He appreciated the informal and participative teaching style and absolute freedom to express opinion and views. An excellent online library and flexible study times also helped him complete his MBA in just one year. Arun is still involved in the JCUS community through their Orkut group, a useful place to meet other alumni and students.
Graduates of James Cook University Singapore have all the same rights as a full student of JCU in Australia, and receive the same qualifications. This can make it easier for them to work or study further in Australia later. The courses are also fast-tracked, so students finish earlier than their Australian counterparts. Resident senior academic staff from the Australian campuses ensure the same high standards of education are kept.
As well as foundation courses in English, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in business, information technology, education and psychology are available at the Singapore campus. For more information about studying at JCU Singapore, contact one of our student counsellors today.
