Australia: Griffith students go for gold

As all eyes turn to Beijing this month, the Griffith University lecture halls may seem a little emptier during the Olympics season.

As well as an excellent reputation for academic achievement, Griffith has many talented sporting heroes. The Australian Olympic team includes 21 athletes who are also past or present Griffith students – including swimming champion Libby Trickett, a Griffith alumni.

Dylan Grant is studying a Bachelor of Business and Exercise at the Queensland-based University – combining a professional business program with sports studies. He is also representing Australia in the 4x400 men’s relay event. Griffith University has become well known for both its excellent sporting facilities and its support of elite athletes.

So, if you think you are destined for sporting, as well as academic, greatness, you should check out the wide range of courses available at Griffith.
